Refinement of integrated formula of wave overtopping and runup modeling

This study attempts to refine a model named the Integrated Formula of Wave Overtopping and Runup Modeling (IFORM) improve prediction performance mean wave overtopping discharge for broader range installation conditions. The empirical formula describing relation between maximum runup has been re-examined. A set piecewise formulas is implemented in IFORM by optimal reconstruction coefficients depending on magnitude deficit freeboard. refined improves tendency underestimate relatively high freeboard conditions, while it retains original where crest low. model's capability validated comparison with various existing experimental datasets inclined/vertical seawalls installed at shallow water depth or land. accuracy also examined well-known formulas. Qualitative quantitative comparisons validate that current able reproduce observations over broad conditions proposed present as good representative models.
